The 18th Annual Bay Ridge Marlins Swimathon will be held on
Saturday, July 27th (8:30 AM to 8:30 PM) and will be followed by a dive-in movie. Last year, we raised over $14K for
pediatric cancer research at Johns Hopkins. Over 80 swimmers swam
10,000 laps (110 miles) in 12 hours. We will also be holding a Be the Match Bone Marrow Registration from 11am-3pm.
All money raised by the event
directly supports the research at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive
Cancer Center Pediatric Oncology at Johns Hopkins, where a 22-year-old swimmer,
Susie, underwent 130 long weeks of treatment for leukemia.
Susie’s cancer is in full remission, but the annual event has
become an important part of the team’s summer experience. We
have sponsors that contribute food and prizes, including
Papa Johns, Chick-fil-A and Naval Bagels.
This year, you can contribute online using a credit card or your
PayPal account. Simply click on the Donate button on the left.
